Club Bruges scares: demonstration of the Blauw en Zwart against Genk (4-0)

The Genkois reacted after the quarter of an hour with a cross from Fadera which alerted Jackers, who released the ball in front of Tolu, the Nigerian striker not taking advantage of it to equalize (19th).

Dennis Odoi then missed the target with his header when he was left alone at the far post by the Genk defense (38th). The score was 1-0 at the break.

Club Brugge doubled the lead after returning from the locker room thanks to Skoras, who took advantage of a superb inspiration from Vanaken, who transmitted the ball with a lofted header to the Polish winger, who only had to conclude (51st).

The break came from the feet of Igor Thiago, who scored Bruges' third goal after a magnificent sequence of chest control followed by an outside shot with his right foot (57th). The Brazilian striker ended a drought without scoring which had lasted since January 30.

Maxim de Cuyper added a fourth Bruges goal ten minutes later, striking from distance with his left foot, deceiving Maarten Vandevoordt (67th) and setting the final score at 4-0.

In the standings, Bruges remains in second place with 39 points, and still remains two points behind Anderlecht, winner of Cercle de Bruges 3-0 and leader with 41 units. Bruges are 4 points ahead of Union Saint-Gilloise who travel to Antwerp on Thursday at 8:30 p.m. Genk remains fourth with 34 units.
