Borderlands 4 Legendary Weapon Wish List

Of all the new and crazy guns that the next Borderlands game is expected to introduce, it shouldn’t leave behind some of the most satisfying weapons from the past games. There’s already a wide variety of fan-favorite weapons in the Borderlands franchise, and Borderlands 4 can have its cake and eat it too by bringing these back alongside a new selection of weapons.

With how far the franchise has come, bringing back old weapons from the past Borderlands games can showcase all the subtle improvements that have been introduced by the time Borderlands 4 releases. At the same time, this would also be a satisfying service to the fans who have played every game in the Borderlands franchise to bring some of their favorite weapons along for another journey.

Returning Weapons From Past Borderlands Games that Borderlands 4 Should Add

Several weapons have made repeat appearances throughout the Borderlands franchise already, and most, if not all of these weapons arguably deserve to show up yet again in Borderlands 4. Especially considering that some of these have been making repeat appearances since the original Borderlands games, having these weapons show up in yet another Borderlands game could be a nostalgic way to showcase the latest features and buildcrafting tools in the hands of a new generation of Vault Hunters.

Borderlands 4 Should Continue the Legacy of the Original Weapon Manufacturers

Aside from the weapons that have already made repeat appearances in the franchise, Borderlands 4 should consider bringing back one or two of the best weapons from each of the existing weapons manufacturers in the Borderlands franchise. Even if the original weapon manufacturers aren’t in business anymore, their legacy in the Borderlands franchise shouldn’t come to an end just yet.

Borderlands 4 Should Bring Back Borderlands the Pre-Sequel’s Laser Weapons and Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands’ Melee Weapons

As a spin-off game in the Borderlands franchise, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands proudly bears its influences from the mainline Borderlands games. However, Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands also wasn’t afraid to tread its own path and experiment with some original features. By now, it’s time that this relationship went both ways, meaning that future Borderlands games should learn from Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

While it wasn’t a spin-off, Borderlands the Pre-Sequel also introduced some unique features to the franchise, except most of these features didn’t stick around. In hindsight, Borderlands 4 should consider reviving weapon types that have previously been limited to a single game in the franchise, specifically, the laser weapons from Borderlands the Pre-Sequel and melee weapons from Tiny Tina’s Wonderlands.

When it comes to guns in the Borderlands games, each new game in the franchise raises the bar with one or two game-defining features. So, Borderlands 4 will have its work cut out for it to bring on a meaningful new gameplay mechanic related to guns. Not only should the next Borderlands game introduce original guns that can showcase whatever this new gameplay feature might be, but it should also consider bringing back some of the best weapons from the previous Borderlands games to let them take advantage of this new feature as well.
