Bloober Team Working on New Game With Take-Two Interactive

Highlights

  • Bloober Team is working on a new game with Take-Two Interactive.
  • Code-named “Project C,” the mysterious title is based on an original IP, with Bloober Team planning to reveal it sometime in 2024.
  • The game itself will be published by Take-Two’s Private Division.

The horror veterans at Bloober Team have partnered with a Take-Two Interactive subsidiary on a new game based on an original IP. Bloober Team itself recently confirmed the existence of this mysterious project, in addition to providing a status update on one other yet-to-be-revealed game that it currently has in the works.

Based in Kraków, Poland, Bloober Team is an independent studio best known for psychological horror experiences such as Observer and the Layers of Fear series. The company announced its Silent Hill 2 remake in October 2022 following many rumors about the project.

Bloober Team Partners With Private Division on ‘Project C’

And while that particular game is still waiting for a release date, Bloober Team already has several new things on its plate. One of them is Project C, an original experience based on a new IP that the company mentioned in its latest consolidated financial report. Bloober Team is collaborating with Take-Two Interactive’s Private Division on Project C, but has noted that it will fully own the upcoming game’s IP, according to its latest shareholder letter translated by Twitter user pl_evil. While Project C is still without a release window, the studio’s current plan is to unveil it by the end of 2024, as per the same source.

Bloober Team’s ‘Project R’ Slated For 2025 Release

The letter to shareholders also offered a status update on Bloober Team’s Project R, which was announced in December 2023 as a game based on an IP owned by Skybound Entertainment, the company founded by The Walking Dead co-creator Robert Kirkman. That particular title is currently slated for a 2025 “premiere,” the studio said. While this wording is somewhat ambiguous, the project’s original announcement used more straightforward language, stating that Project R is meant to hit the market in 2025. Bloober Team’s usage of “premiere” hence ostensibly means “release” rather than “reveal.”

Since Private Division has been exclusively focused on indie publishing for the entirety of its seven-year existence, it is plausible that Project C will be a smaller-scale game, at least relative to the Silent Hill 2 remake. When exactly it started development is unclear, but Bloober Team’s plans to reveal it by year’s end indicate it’s already been in the works for at least several years, as the company would otherwise likely have nothing to showcase in 2024.

It remains to be seen whether either Project C or Project R end up being revealed before the Silent Hill 2 remake reaches the PS5. The reimagining of Konami’s cult-classic survival horror has been billed as a 2024 release for a while now, and may finally be treated to a concrete availability date whenever the next PlayStation event takes place.
