18 Most Satisfying Anime Endings
Not every anime has a great conclusion. These works, though, managed to leave audiences satisfied with the story’s end.
It is definitely a different type of pain when fans’ favorite characters experience a different and unexpected fate. This unexpected change can leave viewers mourning or feeling down for days. Anime like Akame ga Kill! and 5 Centimeters Per Second, amongst others, are known to have very emotional endings that push viewers to tears.
Updated on April 16, 2024, by Oluwatokiloba Folami: Things do not always go as expected. Some characters are destined to have happy endings, while others are destined for the opposite. When an anime ends on a sad note, it puts things into perspective for the viewers, as they tend to wonder why, and if there could have been a way to avoid the unhappy conclusion. However, it is just how life is; some people have it good while others do not. Efforts of the character might have been wasted, dreams not realized, or even not seeing what the character has worked so hard for—all these scenarios and more are what makes an anime sad or end on a sad note. There is no shortage of anime that take this approach, and so a few more series have been added to this list with its latest update.
