Australia stocks lower at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 down 0.01% By Investing.com

Investing.com – Australia stocks were lower after the close on Wednesday, as losses in the , and sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Sydney, the fell 0.01%.

The best performers of the session on the were Pointsbet Holdings Ltd (ASX:), which rose 6.33% or 0.05 points to trade at 0.84 at the close. Meanwhile, Nuix Ltd (ASX:) added 6.12% or 0.12 points to end at 2.08 and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Ltd (ASX:) was up 4.95% or 1.21 points to 25.57 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Kogan.com Ltd (ASX:), which fell 26.46% or 1.86 points to trade at 5.17 at the close. Cleanaway Waste Management Ltd (ASX:) declined 10.13% or 0.31 points to end at 2.70 and Zip Co Ltd (ASX:) was down 4.51% or 0.06 points to 1.17.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 610 to 565 and 428 ended unchanged.

The , which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 4.00% to 11.35.

Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.14% or 3.35 to $2,338.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.20% or 0.17 to hit $83.53 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.17 to trade at $88.59 a barrel.

AUD/USD was unchanged 0.42% to 0.65, while AUD/JPY rose 0.42% to 100.85.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 105.57.
