Alpenglow, the new hydrogen-powered Alpine on track at Francorchamps with a Belgian champion

This two-seater is powered by a 4-liter Oreca thermal engine (formerly designed for rallycross) developing 370 horsepower, therefore powered by hydrogen. A V6 engine specially designed for this new technology is already under development.

The three 55 liter tanks have been well integrated into this more than successful futuristic design.

And after the static presentation this Friday, our world rallycross champion Guillaume De Ridder will take to the track at his wheel this Saturday morning to raise the curtain for the 6 Hours of Spa. The opportunity to show that the Alpenglow Hy4 is already running and can reach a maximum speed of 270 km/h, a little more than the best GT3 flashed this weekend at 262 km/h for the M4 of Valentino Rossi and Maxime Martin . But also to confirm that it makes noise!

There is currently only one example of this “rolling laboratory”. A racing version, but also a road version are being studied, but even if billionaire Richard Mille has already asked its price, the answer is that it is currently not for sale yet.

But after Toyota, Alpine has taken a good step towards an interesting alternative to electric. For industry, but also motor sports.
