11 Dagon

Killed By: Toji Fushiguro

Dagon Death Swarm Jujutsu Kaisen

At the beginning of the Shibuya Incident arc, Dagon could have passed off as a cute pet belonging to Mahito’s group. However, he underwent an evolution that turned him into a fearsome, special-grade cursed spirit. Following his transformation, Dagon was able to use his Domain Expansion to trap a trio of powerful sorcerers.

It is safe to say that he would have killed all three of them if Toji and Megumi had not arrived on time. Megumi was trying to save his allies, while Toji was doing what he was commanded to do. Dagon was overconfident that he could crush Toji, and it proved to be a fatal mistake. The cursed spirit was absolutely obliterated by Toji, leading to his death.

Impact: After Dagon’s death, the sorcerers were able to provide support to their allies. The cursed spirit was strong enough to hold off some of the strongest sorcerers in Shibuya. If Dagon had been successful in his mission, the likes of Megumi and Hanami would have died, and the cursed spirit would have been free to help out his friends.

10 Kugisaki Nobara

Killed By: Mahito

Nobara's fatal wound Jujutsu Kaisen episode 43

Kugisaki Nobara had the most shocking death in the anime. No one suspected that Gege Akutami would kill the main female lead in Jujutsu Kaisen. The Shibuya Incident arc wasn’t too kind to Nobara, who was bullied for the majority of the arc.

She did, however, get an opportunity to shine when Mahito’s clone tried to fight her. Nobara was thoroughly dominant, and she was confident that she could kill him. Unfortunately, the clone started to run back toward the main body, and he switched places. Nobara was lagging behind, and before she could realize what had happened, it was already too late. The real body touched her face, leading to her death.

Impact: Nobara’s death was highly unexpected, and it had far-reaching effects. When Yuji saw his friend dying, he was overcome with anger. He was already furious with Mahito for all the horrible things he had done, but Nobara’s death pushed him over the edge.

After being healed by Mahito, Kokichi began to fight the cursed spirit. The fight was exciting, and the momentum kept shifting from one side to another. Just when Kokichi thought that he had the advantage, Mahito used his Domain Expansion to end the battle.

Impact: Kokichi’s death was extremely important for the success of the cursed spirits in Shibuya. If Mahito had botched the mission, Kokichi could have easily reported Geto and Mahito’s plan to Gojo Satoru, who would have thwarted them without any problems.

8 Mahito

Killed By: Pseudo-Geto

Mahito episode 42

Mahito was the leader of a group of special-grade curse spirits who believed that humans were trash and completely dispensable. In comparison to his allies, Mahito was much more heinous. He took pleasure in tormenting people and turning them into disfigured humans.

In the Shibuya Incident arc, Mahito killed hundreds of humans. He was also responsible for the deaths of Kugisaki Nobara and Nanami. However, he got his comeuppance. After being battered by Yuji, the special-grade curse spirit began to run away. Eventually, he met his end at the hands of Pseudo-Geto.

Impact: Mahito was one of the main cursed spirits who met their end in the Shibuya arc. He was a malevolent individual who was responsible for the deaths of hundreds of people. He felt absolutely no remorse for his actions. After Mahito’s death, Yuji could breathe a sigh of relief. He was also satisfied that Nobara’s killer couldn’t hurt anyone else.

7 Riko

Killed By: Toji Fushiguro

Riko moments before her death jujutsu kaisen episode 27

Riko Amanai was introduced in the second season of the anime. She was the Star Plasma Vessel for Tengen, so she had to be escorted to the location where she would be assimilated. Many people were against the idea, so they did everything in their power to kill her before she could reach the location.

Thankfully, she was being escorted by Geto and Satoru, who made sure that she would safely arrive at her destination. Upon her arrival, Geto told her that she had a choice. Riko could go back if she wanted, and no one would object. Riko was overjoyed to hear this, as she wanted to continue living. Just when things seemed to be going well, Toji Fushigoro appeared out of nowhere and shot her.

Impact: The Star Religious Group was responsible for the death of Riko. They had paid Toji to kill her. Her death deeply impacted Suguru Geto and Gojo Satoru. After the incident, the two went down drastically different paths.

6 Junpei

Killed By: Mahito

Junpei and Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen

Junpei was a victim of bullying, which caused him to be filled with hatred against the perpetrators. Mahito took advantage of this and offered him the power to fight back. Junpei believed that Mahito was a good person and that he was helping him out of the kindness of his heart.

Here’s why Satoru Gojo must return to the JJK story.

Junpei had no idea that Mahito was only using him. By the time Yuji told him the truth, it was too late. Mahito turned up at the location, and he used his power to mutate Junpei, turning him into a hideous monster. Before succumbing, Junpei begged for death. This moment moved Yuji to his core, and he swore to kill Mahito.

Impact: Junpei debuted in the first season of the anime. He was a shy kid who had developed a hatred for other people because of how he was treated. When Junpei was killed, it served as an important lesson to Yuji, who understood that he could not save anyone.

5 Toji Fushiguro

Killed By: Gojo Satoru

toji death jujutsu kaisen

Toji Fushiguro was also known as the Sorcerer Killer. He earned the name after slaughtering many sorcerers for one reason or another. Toji Fushiguro was a member of the Zenin Clan, but he took up the name of his wife. He was a dangerous character who did not care about killing people as long as he was paid.

Toji had made a Heavenly Pact, which significantly increased his physical capabilities. He was able to blitz Satoru and Geto and outsmart them rather easily. Toji was also adept at using different kinds of weapons, which is what he normally used to fight. During his initial encounter with Satoru, Toji absolutely demolished the young sorcerer. However, Satoru managed to survive and came back to kill Toji.

Impact: Toji’s death was important to the story as a whole. If Gojo had not killed him, there is no telling what would have happened to Megumi. The latter could have ended up on a completely different career path, as he would have had no proper guidance.

4 Kechizu and Eso

Killed By: Itadori Yuji and Kugisaki Nobara

Kechizu and Eso are the main antagonists of the Death Painting arc. The brothers were sent on a mission to retrieve one of Sukuna’s fingers. As they started to look around the area, the two of them encountered Itadori Yuji, Megumi Fushiguro, and Nobara Kugisaki.

However, Yuji and Nobara remained resolute and refused to back down. Ultimately, Kechizu and Eso were defeated and killed by the young sorcerers.

Impact: Eso and Kechizu were the younger brothers of Choso. Their deaths did not go down with Choso, who swore to avenge his brothers at all costs. This was the main reason for Choso to side with Mahito and Pseudo-Geto. If he still had his brothers, there would have been very little reason for him to help the cursed spirits in Shibuya.

3 Nanami

Killed By: Mahito

jujutsu-kaisen-kento-nanami

Not many characters can keep their cool in a perilous situation like Nanami. In the first season of the anime, Nanami had a fierce encounter with Mahito. The two went at it hammer and tongs, but neither of them could gain the upper hand.

Suddenly, Mahito managed to trap Nanami in his Domain Expansion and would have killed him if not for Yuji’s intervention. Nanami lived to see another day, although he wasn’t so lucky in the Shibuya Incident arc. After being severely wounded by Dagon, Mahito easily killed Nanami.

Impact: Nanami’s death shocked both the audience and the characters in Jujutsu Kaisen. He played a crucial role in both seasons, which is why it was appalling to see him die.

2 Hanami

Killed By: Gojo Satoru

Hanami was a special-grade curse that was introduced in the first season of the anime. They infiltrated Jujutsu High during the Goodwill Event as a part of Mahito’s plan to steal several cursed objects. Hanami’s overwhelming power allowed them to get the better of most students except for Aoi Todo and Itadori Yuji. The two managed to put up an excellent fight against the curse.

Hanami retreated after Satoru joined the fray. However, they did fight the strongest sorcerer in the Shibuya Incident arc. Hanami and their allies tried to kill Satoru, but they fell short. Unlike their last meeting, Satoru did not let Hanami escape and crushed them completely, exorcising the cursed spirit.

Impact: Hanami was a powerful cursed spirit who was an invaluable member of Mahito’s group. They were one of the many enemies that Gojo had to fight in Shibuya. Hanami tried their best to stall Gojo, but they ended up dying. Hanami’s death didn’t go in vain, as Pseudo-Geto managed to seal Gojo.

1 Jogo

Killed By: Sukuna

Jogo jujutsu kaisen all deaths

Jogo was a hot-headed, special-grade cursed spirit who was extremely confident in his abilities. He even decided to test out his power against Satoru, which turned out to be a rather silly decision. The sorcerer had an answer for Jogo’s every single technique. Sensing defeat, Jogo ran away to save himself.

In the Shibuya Incident arc, Jogo came face-to-face with Sukuna, the King of Curses. Jogo foolishly tried his luck against Sukuna, only to be outclassed yet again. Before meeting his end, Jogo was praised by Sukuna, which made the former extremely emotional.

Impact: Jogo narrowly avoided death when he tried attacking Gojo Satoru in season one. But he wasn’t so lucky when he fought Sukuna in the subsequent season. Jogo’s death did not have too much of an influence on the plot. The only big impact that it had was that Yuji and his group had one less enemy to deal with.
