Alex Blessin after Union's defeat against Bruges: “It's difficult to accept because I saw a great team”

The key moment of this defeat fell just before the hour mark. On a harmless clearance, Vetlesen deflected the ball sent by Moris directly into the Union cages. Despite this, Blessin did not want to point the finger at his captain. “Maybe it's what you expect but I'm not going to make negative comments about my goalkeeper, said Alex Blessin. He played well during 30 matches in the classic phase and saved us during so many matches. He knows he made a mistake but I will never blame him.”

Relegated to third place, the Union is despite its zero out of twelve still in a title race which seems to be achieved with four teams. “I've never been the best at mathematics but the former only has three points more. Bruges and Genk are having a good period, it remains to be seen how long that will last. We still have everything in our hands.”
