The race, which takes place every year in the heart of winter, holds a special place in the hearts of runners because of its complexity and the great feeling of pride of each of the finishers.

The event is a unique challenge that runs from Coverack to Porthtowan, two iconic locations, with departures also from Porthcurno and St Ives. In addition to the already existing courses, Arc of Attrition 100 mile (100M for 4200 meters of D +) and Arc 50 mile (100K), a new course of 40 kilometers (50K) will debut in 2025. These three courses will follow portions of the Cornish Coastal Path, England's longest national trail, which circles the county at the south-west tip of the country.

The only UTMB event in January

With Arc of Attrition by UTMB, the UTMB World Series circuit will include 43 events in 2025 around the world, responding to growing demand from British runners for a second UTMB World Series event in the United Kingdom, complementing Ultra-Trail Snowdonia by UTMB in May.

The event occupies a unique place on the UTMB World Series calendar as it will be the only one to take place on the entire circuit in January, and the only one in Europe between November and March. It thus strengthens the presence of the circuit in England and offers a new challenge to the large community of runners in Cornwall, Devon and Dorset.
