A former Ivorian player from Beveren dies tragically at the age of 43 on a football field

Arriving in Beveren in 2004, to follow in the footsteps of other Ivorian players, who have become football legends like Emmanuel Eboué or Yaya Touré, Abdoulaye Diabis Diawara played 98 matches there in four seasons.

He then did some stints in the lower divisions in Belgium and France before ending his career in 2013. The Ivorian was taking courses to become a coach and was also involved in an academy run by Jean-Marc Guillou.
