Launching the “Ambassadors” Program to Promote Positive Citizenship Outside the UAE

The Emirates Society for Social Development in Ras Al Khaimah launched the “Ambassadors” program, which aims to promote the concept of positive citizenship beyond the country’s borders, whether geographically or cyber-wise.

The programme comes as part of the association’s ongoing efforts to consolidate positive behaviours and practices that reflect authentic Emirati values, not only within the country, but also at the global level.

The programme was announced during the youth dialogue session “UAE Ambassadors”, in the presence of Abdul Rahman Mohammed Bin Karam, representative of Emirati youth in the Kingdom of Bahrain and a graduate of the Young Arab Media Leaders Programme, Engineer Ali Salem Al Nuaimi, Community Relations Advisor at the Emirates Society for Social Development, and Alyazia Al Ali, Head of the “World Youth Ship” Programme delegation in Japan. The session was held at the Society’s headquarters, and witnessed great interaction from the young participants, and highlighted the importance of the role that Emirati citizens can play as ambassadors for their country in various international forums.

Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Khalifa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Emirates Society for Social Development, said: “The launch of the ‘Ambassadors’ programme is a continuation of a series of initiatives implemented by the Society to promote positive citizenship values. The programme focuses on educating citizens about their duties and roles when they are outside the country’s borders or in the cyber world.” He pointed out that the programme represents guidelines and directives that help Emirati citizens understand their responsibilities as ambassadors for their country, which enhances the positive image of the UAE at the international level and confirms the connection between the past, the present and the future in building a unique civilised model.

He explained that “launching the ‘Ambassadors’ programme of the Emirates Society for Social Development represents an important step towards enabling the Emirati citizen to exercise his role and responsibility with full awareness, whether abroad or in cyberspace, as the programme aims for every citizen to be an ambassador who reflects the values ​​of belonging and commitment to his country, and a role model in dealing with different cultures and facing challenges.”

Khalaf Salem Bin Anbar, Director General of the Emirates Society for Social Development, stressed that the “Ambassadors” programme is a response to the country’s drive to build a global community characterised by tolerance and positive interaction with others, whether geographically or virtually, noting that the programme will enhance Emirati youth’s understanding of their role and responsibilities, and support the UAE’s vision to consolidate its civilised position among countries.
