After ten minutes of play, the Red Cross received a call from block W18, on the first floor of the main stand. A supporter had fallen down the stairs after feeling unwell. The man immediately lost consciousness. Six supporters and a steward carried him to the stadium corridors, where Red Cross staff, spotters and then the SMUR tried to resuscitate him for an hour with the help of a defibrillator. In vain. During half-time, supporters in block W18 were asked to stay in their block so as not to disrupt the work of the medical staff, which they did.
RSCA – Circle: a fan died after feeling unwell during the match
At the start of the second half, great resources were deployed. So that the victim could remain flat – which is desirable during heart attacks – the person was evacuated via the large fire ladder. A few minutes after arriving at the hospital, the supporter died.
