Woman who boiled cheating husband’s scrotum back in court

Woman who boiled cheating husband’s scrotum back in court

The woman who was arrested for pouring boiling water on her husband’s scrotum appeared in court in Trikomo on Monday, while her husband remains in hospital.

In court, police representative Bugracan Kaplan said the woman, who is 34 years old, stands accused of causing “serious injury, serious damage, and serious assault”. She had chosen to pour the boiling water on her husband’s scrotum after discovering that he was cheating on her.

He explained that the woman had boiled the kettle in their house in the Karpas peninsula village of Leonarisso at around 8.30am on October 31, before entering their shared bedroom with the kettle and poured the water onto the scrotum of her husband, who was lying on his back.

He added that she had done so “with the intention of harming his genitals so he would not cheat again”.
Her husband, aged 35, suffered second-degree burns on his scrotum and in the surrounding area.
Bugracan then added that the woman was “identified at the scene of the crime and arrested”.

He said the kettle had been taken as evidence and that the woman had confessed to her crime, though noted that it would be “highly probable that witness statements may be affected” if she were released on bail.

As such, he requested that she be remanded in custody for four days so as to allow the police’s investigation to be “conducted safely”, and judge Semra Kaymakli Guven acquiesced.
