Why does Israel insist on a ground incursion into Lebanon?

The Israeli mini-government had officially agreed to a “limited” ground operation in Lebanon a few days ago.

And he announced Israeli army He intends to dismantle Hezbollah’s military facilities in the border villages, remove the party from the border and stop its threat to Israeli towns.

The expert in Israeli affairs, Abdullah Al-Sawalha, confirmed in his interview with Sky News Arabia that the real goal of the ground attack is to eliminate Hezbollah once and for all.

Al-Sawalha said: “The declared goal of the ground operation is to return the population to the north, but Israel I set another implicit, undeclared goal, which is to dismantle Hezbollah’s capabilities. Officially, there is no goal of dismantling Hezbollah, but it is an implicit goal.”

He stressed that the operation would not be “limited” as announced, and “after the killing of some Israeli army soldiers, the army will expand the operation significantly to protect ground entry.”

For his part, journalist Mohammed Al-Hammadi said that Israel must rethink ground intervention, noting that “the Israeli government has a kind of greed,” which may put it in trouble.

The researcher at the Emirates Policy Center, Muhammad Al-Zaghoul, criticized the stated Israeli reasons for the incursion, which were to return Israel’s population to the north.

Al-Zaghoul said: “There have been missiles for a long time Hezbollah“It is impossible for the Israeli population to return to the north, this is the reality.”

He added: “There have been missiles in there for a long time Syria andIraq“The declared Israeli goal will not be achieved.”

Did Israel eliminate Hezbollah?

The expert in Israeli affairs, Abdullah Al-Sawalha, said that the “optimistic” Israeli indicators say that the Israeli army “has only eliminated 40 to 50 percent of Hezbollah’s capabilities.”

The researcher at the Emirates Policy Center, Muhammad Al-Zaghoul, spoke about the difficulty of Israel’s mission to completely eliminate the party.

Al-Zaghoul said: “Destroying Hezbollah’s capabilities and disarming Hezbollah is an idea that cannot be achieved for Israel, because it needs something greater than Israel.”

Why the ground incursion?

Al-Sawalha explained the reasons for Israel’s intention to launch a ground incursion: “It is not possible to target all of Nasrallah’s sites with air strikes alone, and for Israel, this will only be achieved byGround incursion“.

As for journalist Muhammad Al-Hammadi, he pointed out that “the pager attacks on Hezbollah leaders showed the extent of the party’s penetration, and the extent of the presence of agents in the party,” but he also stressed that Israel’s ground operation would not be easy for them, because of Hezbollah’s strength.
