Where to catch live music this weekend

Another week, another round of live music performances. This Friday and Saturday, musicians from the island but also South Africa’s best-selling and award-winning indie rock band are performing across the island. Loud concerts and intimate gigs are coming up in Limassol, Paphos, Nicosia and Erimi village.

First up, is the Goodfellas Blues Band, which will perform live at Sarah’s Jazz & Blues Club this Friday. Rock tunes and a blend of blues and roots music will fill the Nicosia bar. This powerhouse lineup features seasoned pros Emmanuel Vourakis (from The Zilla Project) and George Kalopedis joined by the dynamic rhythm section of Marios Michael on bass and Omiros Miltiadous on drums.

At the Cyprus Wine Museum in Erimi village, the Commandaria Orchestra & Friends Concert Series presents Dona Amyrotou in a special recital featuring the marimba on Friday night. The performance will showcase the percussion instrument with compositions written specifically for it as well as arrangements from different styles and genres that are sure to captivate audience members.

On Saturday, Time Surfers will present a high-energy cover show at the Music Hall Limassol. Starting at 9pm, they will perform various medleys of their songs featuring beloved hits from legends like Michael Jackson, ABBA, Chic, Madonna, Boney M, Prince, The Bee Gees, James Brown, Bon Jovi, Guns n Roses, ACDC, Tina Turner, Elvis Presley and more.

Finally, a noteworthy concert of international flair is happening in Paphos this Saturday. The Parlotones, a renowned indie rock band from South Africa are coming to perform in Cyprus. Hosted at the iconic Paphos Medieval Castle, the band will perform their music live, joined by an exciting line-up of supporting acts. Alexandros Tsangarides from The Crew, Eurovision sensation, Andrew Lambrou from Australia, Cyprus’ very own rock band Minus One and Eurovision star Silia Kapsis from Australia will also perform on the evening, making this a night to remember in Paphos.
