All necessary measures to ensure the safety of Vasiliko energy centre are being promoted, Energy Minister George Papanastasiou said on Tuesday.
Addressing an event to mark the 10th anniversary of VTTI Cyprus, Papanastasiou said he had placed the project among his priorities and was coordinating actions.
The minister said that “we are today in the process of developing the administration framework” of the centre, with the support of the European Investment Bank, through the European Investment Advisory Hub.
The results of the effort, expected within 2025, will be the creation of an effective organisational structure for the energy centre, he added.
Papanastasiou said that the VTTI terminal at Vasiliko has placed Cyprus on the energy map.
