The sanctions also targeted a company affiliated with the “Amana” organization known as (Build me bar Amanah), described by the Treasury Department as building homes in Israeli settlements And settlement outposts and sell them.
The sanctions prohibit Americans from dealing with Amana and freeze its assets in the United States.
Britain and Canada also imposed sanctions on the same organization.
The Treasury Department said that “Amana” has relationships with other people targeted by previous US sanctions, some of which were through providing loans to settlers to establish farms in West Bank committed acts of violence.
“More broadly, Amana is using agricultural outposts, which it supports through financing, loans and infrastructure construction, to expand settlements and seize land,” the ministry added.
Israel has been building settlements in the West Bank since it occupied them during the 1967 war, and the Palestinians say that the settlements undermine the chances of establishing a Palestinian state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip with East Jerusalem as its capital.
