The Ukrainian Air Force Command announced, in a statement on Sunday, that the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down 15 Russian Shahed drones out of 22 that Russia launched overnight.
The statement said, “During the night, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with a total of 22 Shahed drones, which they launched from the Russian Kursk and Yeysk regions, and the Chuda region (in the temporarily occupied Crimean Peninsula),” the Ukrainian National News Agency (Ukrinform) reported.
The statement added that as a result of the air battle, Ukrainian aviation, mobile firefighting groups and electronic warfare units of the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 15 attack drones in the Sumy, Vinnitsa, Mykolaiv and Odessa regions.
Due to electronic warfare countermeasures, five more enemy drones were lost locally, without causing any damage, the statement said.
