Officials from international and local companies participating in the Dubai Artificial Intelligence and Web3 Festival, which concluded its first session today, confirmed that the UAE’s position in the world of artificial intelligence is supported by an advanced regulatory environment and infrastructure.
These officials stressed the importance of the festival, which reflects the UAE’s excellence in this field, as it represents a platform that brings together the private and government sectors and other stakeholders to exchange experiences and review and explore the best global practices and technologies.
Ahmed Adly, Vice President – Cloud Technology Engineering, Middle East, Africa and Turkey, Oracle Information Technology & Database, said that the Dubai Artificial Intelligence and Web3 Festival confirms the UAE’s commitment to adopting technologies such as cloud computing and artificial intelligence to drive economic growth.
He added that the event is an important platform to support Dubai’s efforts to diversify its economy, and explained that the integration of artificial intelligence is happening very quickly in various sectors, which contributes to changing the way companies operate and provide services.
He pointed out that the public sector in the UAE is one of the most digitally advanced sectors in the world and is embracing the benefits of the cloud to improve its flexibility in providing services to citizens, efficiency, security and access to the latest digital technologies, such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
He stressed that the cloud computing market in the UAE and the region is witnessing tremendous growth, explaining that the increasing digitization in the region, along with the advantages of cloud-based solutions such as scalability, flexibility and cost-effectiveness, are driving strong demand for cloud services.
Amit Rajan, Head of Wholesale Digital Banking at Mashreq Bank, said: “AI is the hottest topic of our time and this festival reflects the maturity that Dubai and the UAE have reached in this area. The festival comes at a pivotal time when many sectors such as finance, healthcare and tourism are seeking to leverage AI applications to improve their services and efficiency.”
He said that the artificial intelligence industry is subject to strict control and at the same time the human factor cannot be excluded from artificial intelligence, stressing that the need for humans to make appropriate decisions will remain.
For his part, Hassan Al Fardan, CEO of Al Fardan Exchange in the UAE, stressed the need to play a constructive role in supporting the use of artificial intelligence to contribute to developing internal capabilities and helping customers improve their experience, and to work on supporting and developing future generations to contribute to consolidating the UAE’s position in advanced ranks in this field.
Regarding the introduction of artificial intelligence in the field of exchange, he pointed out that adoption is taking place in many areas such as risk management and compliance, in addition to integrating artificial intelligence capabilities into interaction with customers, whether in call centers or in applications.
He pointed out that artificial intelligence technologies have greatly accelerated the transfer process by up to 25%, which has a positive impact on the customer experience.
For his part, Ahmed Gamal, Regional Business Development Manager for NVIDIA AI Solutions, said that the festival is very important and provides a great opportunity for global companies, distributors and investors to learn about the latest solutions in the field of artificial intelligence.
He pointed out that the UAE ranks third globally in attracting specialists in the field of artificial intelligence, due to the great efforts it is making, the huge investments in the infrastructure of advanced technology, and the regulatory environment that encourages companies.
