The Turkish Treasury Ministry said on Friday that the deficit in the first ten months of the year reached 1.26 trillion liras.
The initial deficit reached Türkiyewhich excludes interest payments, 50.05 billion liras in October, and 211.38 billion liras in the January-October period.
Turkish Trade Minister Omer Polat said in early November that the country’s trade deficit decreased by 13 percent year-on-year in October to $5.7 billion.
Polat added in a press conference that exports rose 3.6 percent to $23.6 billion, while imports decreased 0.2 percent to $29.4 billion.
Minister Polat said: “We broke the record for the highest exports in October in the history of our republic.”
He pointed out that the value of Turkish exports in the first 10 months of this year rose from $209.7 billion to $216.4 billion.
