New polls by The New York Times and Siena College show Republican candidate Donald Trump leading Democratic candidate Kamala Harris in Arizona, while the race is close in Georgia and North Carolina. The New York Times indicated that Trump is ahead in the Sun Belt region.

Meanwhile, Walz is preparing for the debate with the help of Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who is playing Dee Vance during rehearsals by his team, and has held policy sessions with his longtime aides, White House officials, and members of the Harris-Walz campaign team.

In the latest development in the Trump assassination attempt, the suspected gunman in the alleged plot at his golf course wrote a letter months ago about his plan, according to court documents released by prosecutors.
