Antonio Conte has overseen a strong start to the season at Hotspur Way but rumours are starting to swirl around one of his star men once again.
What is the latest on Kane?
Journalist Florian Plettenburg recently claimed he was convinced Bayern had made Kane their top target ahead of next summer, adding that the reigning German champions ‘have the money’ to land the 29-year-old.
Kane was the subject of a £100 million bid from Manchester City at the end of the 2020-21 season, with chairman Daniel Levy holding out for an offer in excess of £120 million.
Conte has urged Kane to put pen-to-paper on a new deal in north London, pleading his case towards the end of the transfer window.
The Italian described the 73-cap England striker as ‘world class’ but added that the most important thing was his focus and ‘involvement’ in the current season.
What has Brown said on Kane’s future?
Brown understands that Bayern could launch a large bid for Kane come the end of the season as they look to bolster their attack.
He told GIVEMESPORT: “Several people at the club have been asked about Kane and given honest answers in the public domain. That’s normally a sign that, when you’re a club like Bayern, you’re giving a signal out to both the player and his club that you’re interested.
“Sometimes that’s not always welcomed by the club. I can remember a similar thing happening with Gareth Bale and Real Madrid all those years ago and Spurs did not respond well to that either.
“In the end, I don’t think Bayern made a big push for Kane when the City stuff was first around or since, but it certainly sounds like he’s someone they have high on their list for next summer. They need a striker quite badly and they’re willing to pay big money for one.”
Do Bayern need Kane?
When it comes to losing a big-name striker, the Bundesliga champions know that pain all too well.
Given Kane’s record of finding the back of the net 254 times in 395 Spurs games, it is no surprise he appeals to Bayern.
Described as ‘exceptional’ by Gareth Southgate during England’s run to the Euro 2020 final, Kane is a player any club would be delighted to have.
