The jerseys for the upcoming 4 Nations Face-Off were unveiled on Thursday. And not everyone was happy with Canada’s design.

“The other 3 jerseys in this tournament are classic-looking,” tweeted the X account @LalimesMartian. “These? These just aren’t crispy at all. They should have kept it simple.”

“Canada just keeps on getting uglier jerseys,” tweeted @CurrentPulseHQ.

“I like the logo but otherwise ew,” tweeted @SenseUncommonn.

Maybe fans are being a little too harsh. After all, the Canadian jersey is not all that different than previous editions. It’s certainly not as bad as the 2004 World Cup of Hockey, which had mustard yellow.

However, compared to the other three jerseys, which went with a more simplified look, Canada decided to revamp its traditional design. Not everyone liked the creativity approach.

The maple leaf logo looks a bit too realistic and now includes the word ‘Canada’ in the middle, in case you forgot which team this was. Framed by two bold, white horizontal stripes, the overall look is busier than what we’re used to seeing.

Especially when you consider how clean Sweden’s Tre Kronor jersey looks or how the USA’s logo and angular stripes seem to pop when contrasted with their dark blue palette. Even Finland’s jerseys are a fresh design, featuring both “Suomi” and their coat of arms, as well as splashes of color on the arm sleeves.

As for Canada, not everyone was giving the jersey a failing grade.

“Canada jerseys are so fire,” tweeted @addyyeg.

What do you think?
