The Foreign Ministry added that the Israeli army “made significant progress in striking sites Hezbollah On the border and eliminating its infrastructure.
The ministry’s statement came in response to a question about Israel’s bombing of a city Baalbek Eastern Lebanon.
But State Department spokesman Matthew Miller told reporters in a briefing that “Israel must do this in a way that does not threaten the lives of civilians,” and that “it is necessary to protect civilian infrastructure and important cultural heritage sites.”
And she says US State Department Washington wants to resolve the conflict in Lebanon through diplomatic means, and for the country not to witness a prolonged campaign like Gaza.
She confirmed that two senior American officials were on their way to IsraelWednesday, to advance proposals to end the war in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
Miller said, “White House officials Amos Hockstein and Brett McGurk are on their way to Israel, to discuss issues that include a diplomatic solution in Lebanon, as well as reaching an end to the conflict in Gaza.”
On the southern front, the US State Department believes that Israel is “not doing enough” to respond to its concerns about the strikes in Gaza.
