His Excellency Suhail bin Mohammed Faraj Faris Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, stressed that the UAE believes in the role of regional and international partnerships in accelerating the transformation of the energy sector, through its continuous endeavor to build strategic relationships with friendly countries and world-leading companies in the field of clean and renewable energy and technologies. This came while His Excellency headed the UAE delegation participating in the twenty-ninth session of the Kazakhstan International Oil and Gas Exhibition and Conference, which concluded yesterday and lasted for two days, in the city of Almaty in the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In his keynote speech during the conference yesterday, His Excellency drew attention to the international partnerships undertaken by the UAE, including the agreement concluded by the Government of Kazakhstan with the Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar” on the sidelines of the Conference of the Parties.cop28“To build a 1 GW wind energy project in Kazakhstan, in addition to the memorandum of understanding between the Government of Kazakhstan and the UAE Ministry of Investment to develop 10 GW low-carbon energy projects, and other agreements that are in line with the goal of the Conference of the Parties.”cop28“To triple global renewable energy capacity by 2030.

His Excellency stressed that the UAE is making great efforts to support the global energy sector by strengthening strategic partnerships and developing renewable and sustainable energy projects, as Masdar owns more than 20 gigawatts of the total global clean energy production capacity, and aims to reach 100 gigawatts of renewable energy capacity by 2030. It also seeks to reach an annual capacity of one million tons of green hydrogen by 2030, which will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 6 million tons.

He explained that the UAE is benefiting from its extensive experience in the petrochemical industry to form strategic international partnerships, and the country continues to invest in future petrochemical projects to be a major player in the global market, to lead innovation and growth in the petrochemical sector, and to enhance its environmental sustainability and the diversification of the national economy. In this regard, the country continues to In promoting the growth of the petrochemical industry, investing in modern infrastructure, including ports, pipelines and transportation networks, to ensure efficient logistics and support the export of petrochemical products.

His Excellency stressed that the UAE is committed to achieving a balance between industrial growth and environmental protection, and it supports environmental policies and the sustainable development of petrochemicals, by relying on more efficient technologies in energy consumption and reducing emissions, ensuring a sustainable future for the industry, and that in addition to its investment in traditional petrochemicals, It works to integrate renewable and sustainable energy solutions into the petrochemical industry, reflecting the UAE’s future vision towards a low-carbon economy and promoting the use of clean energy such as solar and nuclear energy.

On the sidelines of his participation in the conference, His Excellency met with Almas Adam Satkaliyev, Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan, and Rinat Bektorov, Governor of the Astana Financial Center, at the head of a large delegation that included Kazakh companies and entities from the government and private sectors.

The UAE delegation included a number of officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Energy and Infrastructure, the Central Bank, and Emirati companies, which included Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company “Masdar”, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and TAQA Water Solutions Company.
