Voters in the 6th Congressional District should take the time to read the candidates’ answers to The Mercury’s election questions (Oct. 14, page 3). Republican Neil Young’s answers were very thoughtful and thorough. Democrat Chrissy Houlahan didn’t bother to submit answers. In her defense, Houlahan votes as directed by her party leadership, so The Mercury really should have asked Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) for Houlahan’s answers.

Kamala Harris has done absolutely nothing to secure our border in 4 years as vice president. Donald Trump and a Republican senate will build the wall, making US citizens safer. Everyone should be for that. But hate money is coming in by the millions because of the fear of Trump disrupting the Democratic swamp. We’ve gone the past almost 4 years without knowing who is really in charge of the white house. Is it Obama? Who knows? It wasn’t Biden. And now they’re trying to elect someone, so it would be more of the same. How could we possibly be inclined to want that? Melania Trump, in her book, and a recent commercial, has stated her strong pro-choice stance, including her view the government has no business being involved.
