Thank you to The Mercury for the tribute to coach Richard Ludy, arguably the most successful baseball coach our area has ever known. I was fortunate to play for Coach Ludy longer than most starting with the 7th and 8th grade teams, summer “playground” league, and finally for the 1970-1972 Boyertown American Legion team. I went on to play for St. Joseph’s University and he was bar none, the best coach I ever played for.

Yes, they are coming for your children. Few have been more demanding of DEI indoctrination and voting rights for 16-year-olds than Nancy Pelosi who commented, “It’s important to capture kids when they’re in high school.” Capturing also has a more sinister intent. In California and Minnesota, the latter home to Vice Presidential candidate Tim Walz, the state can forcibly take custody of minor children for purposes of “gender-affirming care” e.g. surgeries, and puberty blockers.

Pennsylvania will not have ballots counted by election night, November 5. Unlike other states, Pennsylvania law does not allow mail-in ballots to be opened or sorted before 7:00 AM election morning. Our state is crucial to a candidate securing the 270 electoral votes necessary to win the election. No candidate should declare victory on election night without having won that number of votes.

Harris/Walz finally found their slogan for 2024: America Last. That’s the only explanation for the Harris administration’s scandalous non-response to Hurricane Helene, which has ravaged several states with flooding. Yet for days the president, VP, and their party ignored the tragedy. The media dutifully covered up the scandal as long as they could. But as reports emerge from the devastated area, the horrible truth is coming out.

It looks like mortgage rates are going up again. Prices in the supermarket are going up again. Jobless claims are up again. Electricity prices are up again. And my income isn’t going up. Kamala Harris has supported our military with the following votes: Kamala voted against a 2.6 percent pay raise for service members in 2019 and in 2020 she voted against a 3% raise for service members.

Every person indicted for criminal charges has the right to a speedy trial. Trump could have been tried and exonerated in the spring. Instead, he filed for a delay at every turn. Still Amazed: Still wrong. I said Trump could, but needn’t propose a ban. If Congress has the votes to pass a national abortion ban, they’d have enough votes to override any (unlikely) veto by Trump. SCOTUS didn’t rule abortion unconstitutional, only that abortion (and privacy) aren’t guaranteed rights. They said states (and Congress) are free to legislate, constitutionally, as they wish. Your belief that abortion is murder remains just your belief, not law.
When you start rumors during a natural disaster, you not only should be disqualified from public office, but you should be prosecuted.
