”The abandonment of the acronym ATP which had existed for 45 years and had proven itself is not something trivialexplained for the occasion in the facilities of the Royal Léopold Club, Pierre Crevits, late president of the AFT. We will have to rebuild our reputation while always aiming for excellence. This new chapter will aim to accentuate work with other federations. We want to be an example of cooperative federalism. We also want to develop consistency of actions for our two sports: tennis and padel. Of the more than 300 clubs in the federation, a third have tennis and padel courts. In a few years, I think we will reach two thirds. Joint management is more interesting for everyone: the federation, the clubs and the players. But each sport within the federation maintains autonomous management with Clément Geens as technical director of padel and Olivier Davin for tennis. This is why our slogan 'One federation, one philosophy, one community' is important. Tennis and padel feed off each other.”

The future objectives will be multiple as explained by Samuel Deflandre, general secretary of Tennis Padel Wallonie-Bruxelles: “From a sporting point of view we want to work on detection and training. We must also work on strong visibility with a positive image. At the organizational level, we must aim for great professionalism while modernizing our tools (Editor’s note: with in the future a computer system which could become common to both federations). This strategic plan is the common thread to share, all together, to allow the entire community to enjoy and benefit from the benefits of our disciplines and the values ​​they convey, whether in competition or leisure mode.”

Who says new name, also says new logo with the representation of a player with two balls but also variations specific to tennis and padel. “The idea is to bring together two sports in the same communityexplained Christophe Rosière from the Expansion agency. The slogan is a reference to the desire to always provide more services.”
