Afraa Al-Hay Mubarak, Director of the Family Counseling Department at the Association, explained to Al-Bayan that the women’s wedding will be organized in the period between afternoon and dinner, with the aim of reducing expenses on those about to get married and reducing the cost of wedding parties, by limiting themselves to the reception, providing light hospitality, and highlighting Emirati Sanaa.

He pointed out the increase in requests to participate in the Emirati Heritage Wedding, which will be held in its first edition at the World Trade Center, where 14 young men and women were accepted out of 40 whose applications the association received.
The Director of the Family Counseling Department pointed out that the most prominent feature of the first Emirati heritage wedding was decorating the wedding hall with the Ghaf tree, which has a great importance linked to the identity and heritage of the Emirates.
She said that the association was keen to emulate the popular, traditional Emirati environment by harnessing all the details and capabilities to organize an Emirati wedding, such as theatre, sessions, decoration, drinks, fawala, and popular foods such as harees, khabis, aseed, and saqo, in addition to popular drinks such as coffee, tea, ginger, and red seed, so that it would be a 100% traditional wedding. .
She added that colorful traditional dresses will be designed for the brides, including the shayla, the burqa, and the abaya made of silk, called “Suwaiyya.” They will also wear gold jewelry of a traditional nature, such as the “trembling,” which is a wide necklace that wraps around the entire neck, with gold chains consisting of harmonious geometric shapes hanging from it, for the purpose of Strengthening national identity and Emirati heritage.
The wedding hall also features the character of Emirati majlis, in addition to the use of popular bands such as the military band, women’s bands and Al-Razeef.
