Ten Hag responds to Ronaldo: He is too far from Manchester

Ten Hag was speaking at a press conference ahead of Saturday’s match against Southampton, when he responded to “Don’s” recent statements, in which he indicated that a coach cannot lead Manchester United To say that the team will not fight to win the league title or Champions League.

The Dutch coach preferred to focus on Ronaldo’s other statements, as he said that the team needs time to rebuild.

He explained: “He said (Ronaldo“Manchester United can’t win the Premier League. He said that if you read the article carefully.”

“It’s very far away in Saudi Arabia, very far away from Manchester. Everyone is free to express their opinion,” he added.

United, who are still without injured Rasmus Hojlund and Luke Shaw, have lost their last two Premier League games, including a 3-0 defeat at home to LiverpoolBut the coach ignores the criticism.

“It doesn’t affect me. I know where we are at this stage, what we have to do and where we are going. We are still in a transitional phase, we have to integrate a lot of young players and we still have injuries,” he explained.

“Before anyone makes excuses, we have to win every game. I know that. The team knows that. No matter who we have available, we will focus on every game and have the mentality in every game that we have to win,” he added.

Despite the poor results, he says, Ten Hag The team is going in the right direction, he added: “Of course, when you see the results nobody is happy, and the players have a very good sense of the nature of the stage. Also when you analyse the games, all the games so far, you realise that we are going in a good direction. When you are in a transitional phase and you have to build the team, we have to improve and move forward. We will see the result in May next year. The season is still early.”

United are 14th in the standings with 3 points, while Southampton are second from bottom with no points.
