An 18-year-old was arrested on Monday night in connection with car theft.
Police received a complaint that a car with the keys in the ignition had been stolen from an open space in Limassol.
A police patrol spotted the car and gestured to the teen to stop. In an effort to get away, the teen lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a parked car before coming to a halt.
The teen then fled and was arrested close by. He was detained to facilitate investigations.
An alcotest indicated 67μg instead of the permitted 22μg. He also tested positive in a narcotest.
Limassol police are investigating.
