St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Hill welcomes new pastor

St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Red Hill welcomes new pastor

RED HILL — St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 1244 St. Paul’s Church Road, has a new spiritual leader.

Pastor Kevin Compton began his tenure at St. Paul’s ELC on Oct. 1 and will preside at his first Pastoral Worship Service at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Oct. 6.

All are welcome to help greet Pastor Compton.

On Sept. 15, St. Paul’s ELC enjoyed the call sermon of Rev. Compton. Following worship, the membership voted overwhelmingly to call Rev. Compton as their new pastor. It is an exciting time for the church and for Pastor Kevin and his wife, Alison “Ali” Clark.

Pastor Compton is a recent graduate of United Lutheran Seminary, where he graduated with honors and a concentration in Lutheran Studies. He and his wife moved to the Philadelphia area in 2020 from their home in Murfreesboro, Tenn., to attend seminary.

During their time in seminary, they decided to make the Southeastern Pennsylvania area their home. Before beginning his career as a Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, Pastor Compton worked in the insurance field and was a sergeant in the United States Army.

In Tennessee, Pastor Compton’s ministry work focused on housing and food insecurity, reintegration of formerly incarcerated individuals into society, and interfaith ministries.

St. Paul’s heartfelt gratitude goes to the members of the Call Committee for their tireless three-year search and to the Church Council for all of the extra work they did during the call process and for their leadership during the time of transition.
