Through 13 games, Crosby has five goals now, with two goals in back-to-back contests against the Anaheim Ducks (Oct. 31) and Montreal Canadiens (Nov. 2).
In his last two games, he has netted the game-winner on both occasions, with Saturday night’s tally being the 93rd of his career.
As the second-best scorer in Penguins history, Crosby signed a two-year extension to remain with the club through the 2026-27 season, meaning he’s got a chance to surpass Mario Lemieux in goals (690) and points (1,723).

Heading into his next contest, Crosby remains 20 assists short of Lemieux’s team record of 1,033. Considering he produces helpers at a 0.78-per-game pace, the Pittsburgh captain should surpass that total before the New Year.
