His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Sharjah, and President of Al Dhaid University, inaugurated yesterday morning, in the presence of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, the Al Dhaid University building, which is located on a total area of 412 thousand square meters and accommodates 2,000 male and female students.
His Highness discussed the idea of planning to establish the University of Dhaid, which took into account the importance of having supporting facilities, installations and farms that would help students in practical tests and deliver the curriculum and consolidate it in their minds. His Highness pointed out that the acceleration of launching food security projects came as a prelude to opening the University of Dhaid.
His Highness the President of Al Dhaid University spoke about the wheat cultivation project, which is distinguished from others by its high protein content, which reached 19% in the last harvest, the highest in the world, and is free of chemicals and toxic materials.
His Highness touched on the dairy farm project and the efforts and research conducted on cows to reach breeds that have not been modified or their genes tampered with, noting that this type of cow produces A2A2 protein.
His Highness the President of Dhaid University discussed the bird farm project, which was previously called the poultry farm, citing the Almighty’s saying: “And the meat of fowl of whatever they desire.” His Highness explained that the project was named “Flee Birds” because the meat will be red like birds and not white like poultry. His Highness pointed out that these birds are distinguished by the fact that they will be raised in open fields and fed on food free of chemicals, and will receive old natural medical medicines that boost the immunity of these birds.
His Highness spoke about the goat development project in the central region after the interventions that took place on this category, explaining that the research team for this project selected pure goats that had not been altered, and they were inseminated with selected pure breeds.
His Highness the President of Al Dhaid University spoke about the pastures in the emirate, which aim to preserve these pure breeds. His Highness also touched on the vegetable project, which raises the level of food for people. His Highness discussed the wheat grain distribution initiative, which was distributed to 800 wheat farmers in the country.
His Highness expressed his great happiness with these achievements and the presence of students at the University of Dhaid who are working hard and diligently to serve food security projects, and will manage them in the future after receiving sufficient study. In turn, they will contribute to preserving the health of society and fulfilling the trust that everyone bears.
His Highness the President of Dhaid University revealed the projects programme for the year 2025, which His Highness called the Year of Giving, which will begin with the launch of the Central Goat Breeding Project at the beginning of the year after the completion of the vaccination process, while the bird farm will be opened next June.
His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah and President of Al Dhaid University chaired the second meeting of the Board of Trustees of Al Dhaid University yesterday morning.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Highness welcomed the attending members of the Council, congratulating them on the official opening of Al Dhaid University and the continuation of work and efforts to launch the university. During his speech, His Highness wished success and good luck to the members of the Council and the university community with all its members, including professors, administrators and students, in order to achieve the vision and mission of Al Dhaid University in education, learning, training and scientific research, as the university represents a new addition to higher education institutions in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Council approved the university’s budget for the academic year 2024-2025, and also approved the university’s regulations and organizational structure.
