His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has approved exceptional support to help those affected by rain and floods who do not meet the conditions that qualify them to receive support, amounting to 1,806 cases, with an amount of nearly 50 million dirhams.
This support aims to help those affected by the low pressure system that damaged citizens’ homes in the Emirate of Sharjah. The support included disbursing a lump sum assistance of AED 25,000 to 1,568 cases of homeowners who suffered leaks or external damage, and raising the minimum support for those affected to AED 50,000 for 117 cases.
The support also included 83 cases of those affected who hold a registration other than that of the Emirate of Sharjah, and support for 38 cases of owners of new homes that were received during this year and the owner of the home did not live in it during the depression and its equipment and furniture were affected by the rain.
This support comes as a relief for families to prepare, maintain and furnish their homes again, provided that the Social Services Department works to re-evaluate and sort out the cases that were declined and apply the exception directed by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, with the necessity of taking precautionary measures by the residents to avoid and reduce the impact of rain that may affect homes through periodic preventive maintenance.
