Regional event highlights include Adam Carolla, Heritage Haunts and Fall Fest [Events roundup]

• Adam Carolla, a personality whose jokes will have you laughing all night long, will perform Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m., respectively, at SoulJoel’s in Pottstown. Carolla is best known as a comedian, actor, radio personality, television host and New York Times best-selling author. He hosts “The Adam Carolla Show,” which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as most downloaded podcast. He started podcast from his home office in February 2009. The podcast now receives more than 30 million downloads a month and has been featured in Fast Company Magazine, Entrepreneur, The New York Times and The Los Angeles Times. Carolla became a New York Times best-selling author when his book “In 50 Years We’ll All Be Chicks” topped the charts for 10 weeks. The audio version went straight to the No. 1 spot on iTunes. He has since released two other New York Times best-selling books, “Not Taco Bell Material” and “President Me.” He began his career on the nationally syndicated radio program “Loveline” with Dr. Drew Pinsky. MTV developed a television version of the show, which was co-hosted by Carolla and Dr. Drew for five seasons from 1996 to 2000. With his partners Daniel Kellison and Jimmy Kimmel, Carolla created and starred in two hit Comedy Central shows, “The Man Show” from 1999 to 2003 and “Crank Yankers” from 2002 to 2005. He also co-wrote, produced and starred in two independent feature length films: “The Hammer,” released in 2007, and “Road Hard,” released in 2015, a crowd-funded comedy that raised over $1 million in a single month. Through his venture Chassy Media he produced the inspirational documentaries “Winning: The Racing Life of Paul Newman,” “Uppity: The Willy T. • Heritage Haunts, an event to enlighten you about the spooky holiday that is Halloween, is set to take place Friday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Berks County Heritage Center, Bern Township. Explore the history of Halloween and encounter some of the county’s spookiest history. Join us for a lantern tour of the Gruber Wagon Works (registration required, see Lantern Tours event) and stay to learn about the history of Halloween in the Stonehouse. Explore the grounds of the Heritage Center, where actors from Yocum Institute’s Teen Ensemble will be shining a light on some of Berks’ spooky events through brief performances and storytelling. Visit Epler’s Schoolhouse for a reading of “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” and tours of the schoolhouse. This is event is free. For more information, go to allevents.in/reading/.

• 5th Annual Fall Fest, a great time for the whole family, is taking place on Saturday from 10:30 am to 1 p.m. at the Swartz Farm in Mohnton. Rain date is Sunday. This is a come-and-go style event. Each adult ticket includes access to animal pastures, hayrides, petting zoo, old tractor photo area, kids activities and vendor access. Each child ticket includes a free pumpkin to paint, access to animal pastures, hayrides, farm tour, old tractor fall photo area, kids activities (includes bounce house) and vendor access. Visit Swartz Farm so you are able to meet baby goats, mini highland cows, sheep, chickens, ducks, turkeys, alpacas, mini horses and bunnies. This year’s fest features hayrides, pumpkin painting, petting zoo, animal cuddles, vendors/small businesses and more. Food will be available for purchase. All participants must wear a wristband (liability waiver) provided by the PA Farm Bureau. No pets will be allowed. Tickets are $10 for children and $20 for adults. • Fall Festival is set to take place Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. at Boyertown Community Park in Boyertown. There will be hay rides, pony rides, petting zoo, food and snack vendors, craft vendors and activities for the whole family. For more information, go to allevents.in/boyertown/.

• Uncaged, a tribute to the Zac Brown Band, will be on stage Saturday at 7:30 p.m. at the Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center in West Chester. Longtime country fans will be singing along to every word of “Chicken Fried,” “Loving You Easy,” “Same Boat” and more of the Zac Brown Band’s 14 number-one singles as well as favorites from their many studio and live albums.
