Raise a glass at ΟίνοFest: Wine, music and Cypriot heritage

October is the time to enjoy Cyprus’ villages and cool weather and take in its delicious produce. Here to celebrate the age-old tradition of Cypriot wine-making but with a modern flair is the 3rd Annual OenoFest taking place in the picturesque wine village of Lofou this weekend. Time to sip and savour what Cyprus has to offer, inspired by the island’s younger generation.

This third edition is again organised by Agro Cyprus and its festivities kick off this Friday as the festival runs from Friday to Sunday. A live jazz performance will open the event at 7pm as local wineries offer free wine tasting to visitors. Saturday and Sunday are packed with activities, including a traditional grape treading ceremony, live performances by local musicians Rafaellos and Nikolas Genethliou, and a variety of booths showcasing Cypriot products.

Throughout the festival, visitors can explore the wine booths to sample and purchase offerings from local wineries. A food area will feature an array of street food, while the traditional market invites attendees to discover handcrafted items made with local ingredients. Business booths will also be present, where companies, big and small, promote their goods and services.

Welcoming wine lovers, music fans, village explorers, locals or tourists, the festival promises to have tasty experiences for all, with Cypriot winemaking at its core. Best of all, entrance is free!
