Elam is marching at 7pm in Larnaca to demand an austere migration policy and a crackdown on crime, an event that has the police on alert.
Police will be monitoring the march with drones and CCTV systems, while 125 police officers will be in the area, guarding the route from the Finikoudes promenade, through the commercial town and back to Finikoudes.
Many roads around the route will be closed to traffic.
Elam said the march was a protest against criminal actions by illegal immigrants.
“Over the past months, Larnaca is suffering from the criminal actions of unaccompanied so-called underaged people – illegal immigrants. The climate of insecurity is intense in the city centre and other areas which have become ghettos across Cyprus,” Elam said in a statement.
It added that the protestors will demand an austere migration policy and the combating of crime.
