A total of 146 individuals found to be residing in the Republic illegally were returned to their countries of origin in the past week, police said on Monday.
In total, 80 people were arrested in the same time period for not having the legal right to reside in the country, police said.
Five of the individuals were forcibly returned with a Frontex flight carried out by Belgian authorities. This is the 14th time police has participated in joint Frontex operations this year.
Since the beginning of the year, a total of 8,633 individuals have been repatriated or deported, police said.
