Paphos police arrested a 37-year-old man overnight who was wanted by the Ukrainian authorities for arson and whose extradition process in underway on Friday.
According to Paphos assistant police chief, Michalis Nikolaou, the 37-year-old suspect who was on a stop list arrived late on Thursday night at Paphos airport where he was flagged by a security officer during passport control.
According to the authorities, he is wanted for arson committed on October 22, 2023, in Ukraine.
Police secured a temporary warrant from the Paphos district court, under which the 37-year-old was arrested and the process of extradition to the Ukrainian authorities had begun.
