Pathways Hybrid Learning in East Earl will host Pathways Heritage Day at the historic Brubaker Homestead near Terre Hill at 414 Long Lane, East Earl, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 19.

In its sixth year, the must-attend event in Northern Lancaster and South Western Berks counties has become a cornerstone of Pathways Hybrid Learning’s educational outreach.

Last year, nearly 3,000 visitors came out for this family-focused event. With even greater interest this year, organizers are expecting an even larger crowd.

The free admission event features more than 300 historians, artisans, craftspeople, military units, interpreters, and educators, all bringing history to life through interactive, hands-on experiences designed to engage visitors of all ages.

Traveling through time to 1740s Pennsylvania frontier to the dawn of the Industrial Revolution, explore Lenni Lenape heritage, frontier life, and Revolutionary and Civil War military encampments.

Sponsored by Pathways Hybrid Learning, serving students in Lancaster, Berks and Lebanon counties, the event is designed to educate and inspire a passion for history in students while helping parents nurture historical appreciation in their family life. This free event is open to all homeschool, private school, and public school families.

Teens ages 13-17 can register for the Woodlands Walk Challenge. They will move through six wilderness stations to earn points by building a fire, shooting paper wads from muskets, archery, and tomahawk throwing.

Adults ages 18 and older can register for a survival skill competition to vie for the Mountain Man title. This archery competition features a moving deer target.
