WELDON, N.C. (WNCN) — The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office announced late Thursday night that they arrested one of two suspects in the murder of Lamar Lashley, who was gunned down in September.
According to deputies in their social media release, Tyquan Brown, 23 of of Weldon, was arrested without incident at a home in Franklin, Va. by the US Marshals Fugitive Apprehension Team.
Deputies said that Brown is awaiting extradition back to Halifax County.
“The Halifax County Sheriff’s Office appreciates the United States Marshals Apprehension Team for their dedication to apprehend Brown,” a spokesperson with deputies said.
CBS 17 previously reported that Brown, along with 29-year-old Dashan Taylor, have been sought after by Halifax County deputies since October 18 under first-degree murder charges. Lashley, 48 of Weldon, was found shot by deputies on the roadway beside a bicycle near the 1000 block of Washington Avenue in Weldon.
Deputies said they are still searching for Taylor.
