Nicosia to host regional startup world cup finals

Aspiring entrepreneurs will gather in Nicosia on Tuesday for the Startup World Cup Nicosia Finals, an event offering Cypriot startups the chance to showcase their ideas on a global stage.

Organised by The Future Leaders Club and presented by Asbis, the event will take place at the ‘CIM – Cyprus Business School’ from 17:00 to 20:00.

The Startup World Cup, one of the world’s largest and most renowned startup competitions, provides an opportunity for local innovators to compete for a spot in the Grand Finale in San Francisco. There, the ultimate winner will secure a $1,000,000 investment prize.

“The Nicosia Finals provide an excellent opportunity for startups to demonstrate their potential,” the event organisers stated, highlighting the event’s focus on empowering entrepreneurs in Cyprus.

Beyond the competition, attendees will benefit from a panel discussion led by industry experts on “How to Launch a Successful Startup.”

Participants will then take part in a dynamic pitch session, with each startup given five minutes to present their ideas to a panel of esteemed judges, followed by a five-minute Q&A session.

This interactive element will allow the audience to engage with the startup founders and explore their entrepreneurial journeys in greater depth.

Applications for startups to participate remain open until 14:00 on September 23, 2024. To be eligible, startups must either be registered in Cyprus or have founders based in the country.

The event promises to be a “high-energy, impactful” occasion that not only celebrates entrepreneurship but also inspires the next wave of innovation in Cyprus. For those interested, registration for the event is currently open.
