According to a brief statement mentioned on the official website of the African Union, he was nominated Motsepe “Based on requests from a large number of presidents of national federations and presidents of regional federations, the President of the African Confederation, Dr. Patrice Motsepe, has finally agreed to run for another term.”

Motsepe’s term ends in March 2025, as do the terms of the members of the Executive Committee of Djibouti, Suleiman Wabiri (third vice-president), Cameroonian Seydou Ngoya (fourth vice-president), and Comorian Kenizat Ibrahim (fifth vice-president), in addition to Tunisian Wadih Al-Jari, Liberian Mustafa Raji, and Nigerian Gabriela. Hamidou, Seychelles Elvis Shetty, and Botswana McLean Cortez.
The term of the CAF members on the FIFA Council, namely Al-Masry, also ends Hani Abu Rida Moroccan Faouzi Lekjaa, Beninese Martin Chakos, Malian Mamadou Toure, Nigerian Amajo Pinnick, and Sierra Leonean Aisha Johansen.
Last month, Motsepe avoided answering a question about whether he would run again during a working visit to check Kenya’s preparations to host the African Cup of Nations for local players andAfrican Cup of Nations 2027.
