WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is dead as the result of a Sunday night crash, according to the Winston-Salem Police Department.

At around 10:50 p.m. on Sunday, officers came to the on-ramp from Interstate 40 West to US 421 South after getting a report of a crash.

At the scene, police found a 2007 Buick Enclave that was the only vehicle involved in the crash and the deceased victim Zachary Franklin Gordon, 40, of Winston-Salem.

Investigators say that Gordon was driving the Buick on the I-40-to-US 421 ramp when the SUV went off the road.

The WSPD’s Traffic Enforcement Unit has assumed investigative responsibility for the fatal crash.
