A 68-year-old man from Limassol died after being run over by his own car after having parked it and failed to apply the handbrake before getting out, the police said on Sunday.
The man, named as Minas Hadjimichail, had parked his car outside his home on September 27, before realising he had not applied the handbrake.
The vehicle began to move backwards, and Hadjimichail attempted to stop the vehicle himself, but was unable to do so, and it collided with him and another parked car.
He had been undergoing treatment at the Limassol general hospital but succumbed to his injuries on Saturday afternoon.
The police’s investigation into the matter is ongoing.
