RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. (WGHP) — A man is now in custody after he was accused of sex crimes involving a child, according to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office.
On Oct. 9, deputies received a report of a possible sex offense involving a minor.
Randolph County criminal investigation detectives investigated and sought charges against Darrin Jewel Nichols, 52, on charges of felony indecent liberties with a child and misdemeanor sexual battery.
Investigators found and arrested Nichols on Wednesday.
He was taken to the Randolph County Detention Center and given a $25,000 secured bond.
