A 52-year-old man has been arrested as part of an investigation for carrying a firearm, explosives and drugs.
Police issued a bulletin on Wednesday saying the previous day, the man’s home and property in Nicosia were searched.
One air rifle, 152 hunting cartridges, eight firearm cartridges and a small quantity of dry plant material were found and seized.
Police officers then reportedly went to a cemetery in the area, where a pistol, nine full cartridges, a firearm and 15 full shotgun shells were found under a tombstone, inside a rucksack.
The 52-year-old was arrested on a court warrant and detained to facilitate investigations. He was expected to appear before the court for a remand order.
