French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday held phone calls with senior political and military leaders in Lebanon, urging them to exercise restraint after a wave of explosions of pagers and other portable radios, according to the French presidency.
The presidency said Macron asked Lebanese leaders to convey messages to local groups, including Hezbollah, to avoid further escalation, amid fears of a wider war.
