Lebanon’s Ministry of Economy announced on Tuesday that the wheat stock available in the local market is sufficient for at least two months, amid escalating conflict.
The ministry said in a statement on Tuesday: “The Ministry of Economy and Trade would like to reassure citizens that the wheat stock available in the local market is sufficient for at least two months.”
The ministry called on “all citizens to avoid rushing to buy bread or flour in large quantities, as wheat supplies are secured regularly to ensure market stability.”
She added: “The Ministry continues to coordinate with the relevant authorities to ensure the continued availability of these basic materials on a regular basis and without any interruption, and additional shipments will arrive soon.”
Since Monday morning, the Israeli army has launched the “most violent, extensive and intensive” attack on Lebanon since the beginning of the confrontations with Hezbollah about a year ago.
